The queen of Essex’s Canvey Island Diane Chorley hosts her late night evening of entertainment at cult 1980s nightclub The Flick. With music, laughter and some of Edinburgh Fringe’s best performers, Diane creates a night to remember.

With a cabaret style seating, it’s an intimate and fantastically fun night where Diane’s music and outfits are heavily inspired by the 80s. The nightclub is decked out with giant palm trees, bright colours and a sparkling disco ball that lights up the entire room.

Selley has been performing as Diane Chorley for many years, which is evident by the amount of fans in the audience. People return to see Diane year after year because of her infectious style and beaming personality.

Diane’s own musical numbers have a exuberant beat and snappy lyrics. Played by her one-man-band Milky who is constantly jibed at for lacking in personality and stage presence, the live music creates a dynamic ambience. The music is extremely catchy and after just a few versus Diane manages to have the whole audience jamming to the music and singing along at the top of their lungs.

Each night brings something completely different, we were treated to two first-rate comedians and a burlesque dancer. There is huge variety and it’s all broken up with Diane’s chatter and musical numbers.

Diane Chorley’s Down The Flick is a joyous extravaganza of drag, sparkles and Diane’s god-damn gorgeous character.

★★★★

On at Edinburgh Fringe on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
