This year I went along to West End Live, a celebration of theatre right in the heart of London showcasing the finest talent in UK theatre. Trafalgar Square was packed out with theatre fans eager to spend the day singing along to their favourite show tunes. It is the one event in the theatre calendar where you can bring along all your friends to what feels like the ultimate festival that is totally fueled by musicals.
The stage was set and West End Live kicked off with the incredible cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie starring understudy Luke Bayer who gave a tremendous vocal performance. Kinky Boots brought incredible energy to the stage in their final West End live performance until it closes in January. Bat Out Of Hell blew the crowd away with their stellar vocals and the new cast of Les Mis gave an immensely powerful and moving performance – reminding us why it is the longest-running musical in the West End.
