Situated just outside Deansgate, overlooking the waters of the canal, The Lowry hotel is regarded to be the highest quality hotel in Manchester.

Described as a five-star contemporary stay, the Lowry provide impeccably modern facilities in the heart of the dynamic city. I went along to the Lowry to experience what they have to offer in their spa, for some pure relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Lowry QMS skin spa offers a multitude of treatments in order to enhance your wellbeing. Offering bespoke treatments such as the advanced anti-ageing Collagen Rejuvenation, restorative Skin Cell Renewal and skin enhancing Pure Oxygen facials, as well as an interactive Customised Spa Bar, which is fantastic because it allows you to mix and match to create your own spa experience.

I booked in for a Deep Tissue Massage, that was an hour of pure bliss. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly staff at the spa, who encouraged me to sit down and have a green tea whilst filling in a pre-spa form questionnaire.

After sipping my tea, I went into the changing rooms to slip into my luxurious dressing gown and slippers and settled into their relaxation room. With a wall completely made of large windows, the natural light created a calm and bright ambience in the room. With large beds for enhanced comfort and relaxation, I lay down and enjoyed the serenity. With a background music of calming sounds, it was impossible to not feel relaxed. Then my lovely masseuse Sandra came in to collect me and take me into the massage room.

The treatment room had a clean and refreshing scent as soon as you walked in, and with dim lighting and simple decor it was ideal for de-stressing. Before my massage, Sandra asked me questions about where I hold tension, and where I would like her to focus on. As someone who suffers profusely with shoulder pain, I asked her to focus on that – and she did that superbly.

For such a petite lady, she had a lot of strength and whilst hitting the problematic areas, she really dug deep into the knots. Aside from just relieving the tight tension, she moved around my whole body to hit the pressure points and create ultimate relaxation. My mind completely switched off and I felt like I was in pure bliss throughout.

After the treatment, I headed back into the relaxation room to re-hydrate with some infused water and keep my mind off my ever-growing emails and workload.

The experience as a whole was entirely luxurious, the simplicity of the spa allowed it to completely unwind me and have a few hours away from the stress of work and everyday life. If you’re looking for a high-class and high-quality experience, then the Lowry’s QMS Spa is the go-to place in Manchester for some R&R.

All information on the Lowry’s QMS Skin Spa can be found here.

**I was given a complimentary spa treatment at the QMS Skin Spa in return for an honest review.
