Birmingham Hippodrome Summer in Southside

Summer in Southside is an annual event presented by The Birmingham Hippodrome which brings free street performances to Southside such as circus, dance and theatre.

Across and around the Hippodrome square, Hurst Street and The Arcadian, plenty of free fun and performances will be available for anyone to come and enjoy. The perfect chance to come and enjoy some different and innovative theatre created to entertain Southside guests over the bank holiday weekend.

Kicking off on Friday at 5:30pm the festival begins with performances by Orkestra del Sol, Skate Naked and Bruce Airhead. Also with an exciting preview of choreographer Corey Baker’s new performance with Birmingham Royal Ballet soloist William Bracewell.

The weekend then continues with many more creative performances and the arrival of the huge Giraffe Dolly straight from the Glastonbury festival. Provided by VIP puppets Dolly will be roaming the streets of Southside.

It is set to be full of wonders with so much theatre and fun to discover. Pop down to Southside over the bank holiday weekend and you’ll be in for a treat.
